Billing & subscriptions
Manage billing, subscriptions, and payment methods. This section applies only to users with organisation owner seats.
14-day free trial
Section titled “14-day free trial”Your free trial gives the organisation owner account full organisation owner seat permissions plus editor seat capabilities, including the ability to create and publish libraries. You can invite unlimited users with read-only seats during this period.
When your trial ends, all users become users with read-only seats and lose editor seat privileges. To grant editor seat access, upgrade to a paid plan.

Pricing model
Section titled “Pricing model”Sokket charges per editor seat. Read-only seats are unlimited and free. The user with the organisation owner seat always uses one paid editor seat, which is billed through Polar and not deducted from your available seats.
What happens after the 14-day trial
Section titled “What happens after the 14-day trial”- Everyone drops back to read-only seats
- To restore editor seat capabilities, the user with the organisation owner seat must upgrade and purchase seats
- Editing and publishing is locked behind editor seat roles until a seat is assigned
How to manage your subscription
Section titled “How to manage your subscription”Sokket uses Polar for billing and subscription management. Polar handles your payment details securely. Sokket never stores or sees your credit card information. All upgrading and seat management is handled through Polar.
Upgrading from trial (one-time setup)
Section titled “Upgrading from trial (one-time setup)”- Navigate to Settings > Billing
- Select the
Upgrade Planbutton - You are redirected to Polar to enter your payment details and purchase your initial editor seats (at least one seat is required)
- This one-time setup creates your secure customer portal. Once complete, your subscription becomes active with no interruption to workspace access
Accessing your billing portal
Section titled “Accessing your billing portal”- Navigate to Settings > Billing
- Select the
Manage Billingbutton - Polar authenticates you automatically and opens your customer portal
Adding editor seats
Section titled “Adding editor seats”- Access your Polar customer portal
- Adjust the quantity of editor seats in your subscription
- These new seats appear as “unassigned seats” in Settings > Team and can be assigned to new or existing users
Removing editor seats
Section titled “Removing editor seats”- Access your Polar customer portal
- Reduce the quantity of editor seats
- This change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle
Note: Reducing seats only affects your next billing cycle. To immediately revoke access from a user, change their role to read-only seat in Settings > Team. This frees the seat immediately so another user can be assigned, but doesn’t automatically reduce your bill. To reduce your bill, you must manually remove the seat in your Polar billing portal.
