Billing & subscriptions

Manage billing, subscriptions, and payment methods. This section applies only to Owners.

14-day free trial

Your free trial gives the Owner account full Owner permissions plus Contributor capabilities, including the ability to create and publish libraries. You can invite unlimited Consumers during this period.

When your trial ends, all users become Consumers and lose Contributor privileges. To grant Contributor access, upgrade to a paid plan.

Pricing plans

Team Plan

$7 per contributor seat per month.

Includes:

• Unlimited consumer seats
• Unlimited context libraries
• Create, share and refine /instructions and @knowledge

Business Plan

Custom pricing.

Includes everything in Team, plus:

• SSO / SAML integration
• Dedicated Account Manager
• Enterprise-grade priority support
• Advanced security and compliance
• Self-hosted deployment

Pricing model

Sokket charges per Contributor seat. Consumer seats are unlimited and free. The Owner always uses one paid Contributor seat, which is billed through Polar and not deducted from your available seats.

What happens after the 14-day trial

• Everyone drops back to Consumer
• To restore Contributor capabilities, the Owner must upgrade and purchase seats
• Editing and publishing is locked behind Contributor roles until a seat is assigned

How to manage your subscription

Sokket uses Polar for billing and subscription management. Polar handles your payment details securely. Sokket never stores or sees your credit card information. All upgrading and seat management is handled through Polar.

Upgrading from trial (one-time setup)

1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
2. Select the Upgrade Plan button
3. You are redirected to Polar to enter your payment details and purchase your initial Contributor seats (at least one seat is required)
4. This one-time setup creates your secure customer portal. Once complete, your subscription becomes active with no interruption to workspace access

Accessing your billing portal

1. Navigate to Settings > Billing
2. Select the Manage Billing button
3. Polar authenticates you automatically and opens your customer portal

Adding contributor seats

1. Access your Polar customer portal
2. Adjust the quantity of Contributor seats in your subscription
3. These new seats appear as “unassigned seats” in Settings > Team and can be assigned to new or existing users

Removing contributor seats

1. Access your Polar customer portal
2. Reduce the quantity of Contributor seats
3. This change takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle

Note: Reducing seats only affects your next billing cycle. To immediately revoke access from a user, change their role to Consumer in Settings > Team. This frees the seat immediately so another user can be assigned, but doesn’t automatically reduce your bill. To reduce your bill, you must manually remove the seat in your Polar billing portal.
